About the Project

The main takeaway from the interview with Jazmin was about the journey of studying aboard, and it was tough for her to make a decision to leave her hometown without her friends and family to study in San Jose. The journey she had have bring her the idea of hope in the future where she met a bunch of new friends who support her and bring a new fresh future.

I translate her thoughts into the book design, I use a darker color and a tough texture brush to give a feeling of stress and sadness on the front side of the booklet. There is also a bunch of dark spirits that try to pull her down, and give the fear for her to take the big step to study aboard. But on the backside, I choose a joyful color to bring out the idea of hope and a "bright future" that has nothing to hold her back. Also, the dotted lines are representing the future path that is tracing for her.
